Pankaj Saharia from Shrewsbury is an Avid Golfer

Pankaj Saharia from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts is an avid lover of golf who says he can spend his entire day on the links. Golf is a ball and club sport which draws much speculation as to its initial origins. Many contest that the sport of golf began in Scotland in the fifteenth century, though whether or not this was the true beginning of the sport is up for debate. There are many similarities between the modern form of golf and the ancient Roman sport of paganica which saw players striking a leather ball with bent sticks.

In Scotland, the first recording of golf was found in documents which banned the sport. James II set this ban in 1457, believing that citizens who were playing the sport were too distracted and not following through on their needed archery lessons. This ban was lifted by James IV in 1502 because he enjoyed playing golf. The first eighteen-hole golf course was built in 1764 in St. Andrews. The first documented golfing rules were written and published in 1744 for the group known as the Company of Gentlemen Golfers. The first open golf tournament in the world was set in Aryshire, Scotland and held at the Prestwick Golf Club in 1860.

Golf is a challenging sport, which is one of the main reasons why Pankaj Saharia Shrewsbury, Massachusetts likes it so much. Players must develop their innate talent for the sport over many years and overcome their own handicaps and struggles with the sport.
